CIA operator and retired Army Delta Commander, Colonel Garrett McCloud, a guilt ridden and grieving father is given authorization to hunt down the terrorist leader that destroyed two international airliners, including the one that carried his own 6- year old son four years earlier. That authorization is secretly given by a ridiculed President seeking redemption for his past act of weakness that ultimately led to the same terrorist being allowed to go free and kill again. The President must now deal with a much greater threat posed by the same terror leader who has somehow acquired the means to kill tens of thousands of Americans in the US homeland. McCloud is a torn and internally conflicted character. His son's death cost him his marriage and his relationship with his daughter. Bitterness over his country's failure to respond ended his promising military career and earned himself a reputation as a rouge operator within CIA, and eventual exile into a benign agency field job. The new threat now posed by the same terror group has resulted in his recall to Washington. Evidence that the terror leader has an unidentified ally and financial benefactor within the US government only intensifies the threat. McCloud must attempt to balance his distrust of this White House he suspects may be setting him up as a scapegoat if his operation fails, with his desire for revenge and his own search for redemption.

This book was well written and had a good story. My dissatisfaction with the book was approximately two thirds into the story it went all Hollywood. The stadium scene and decision and allowing the airport scene to happen was just way too over the top. Was enjoying the book till then, but it got too unreal.Hoorah!

Book "Gods of Redemption" is a Page-Turner
I prefer and read non-fiction books. Most often I lose interest in fiction and only pick up a novel about two or three times a year. "Gods of Redemption seemed like it might be a realistic story about terrorism and international intrigue - in other words - not far from non-fiction. After completing the book I find that I was right. But the key for me is that it was one of the few books I've read that I really couldn't put down. I hear (and probably say myself) "I couldn't put it down all the time, but this one I really couldn't . I have a busy schedule in my business and my life - reading novels is not a priority. Bottom line is that it takes something special for me to stick with a book with strong interest. This one had great plot, was realistic, always making you want to know what's gonna happen next, easy to read (except for excessive alphabet soup). I give it Five Stars
Super exciting, global Counter-Terrorism Thriller packed with fast-passed action involving CIA, FBI, Delta Force, NSA, White House, local police and intelligence assets in the skies above us and from overseas. A realistic, technically-sound, real world story in the Middle East, Europe, Washington, DC and other places within the United States. This is definitely a well-written, page-turner novel some would compare in quality with books by Vince Flynn, Dan Brown, Nelson DeMille and other big names. I could easily imagine this thriller being shown in movie houses and on TV screens everywhere. Highly recommended for teens and all adults if into brow raising, blood moving, excitement and thrills from a book. Very surprising finish and heart pounding throughout. Superb novel.
Exciting, Fast moving. Huge page turner. Realistic international thriller very applicable to today’s world. You will not be disappointed by this one. At the end, when your heart is still pounding, the question is When is the sequel coming out? Don’t miss this one folks.
